Autumn. Many reasons to love this season. Though I am missing out on PSL for a while, weather is just about perfect for making onion soup with cheese topping, sweet potato pies, and oh! Baking. So much baking! My favourite thing to do in autumn is to go for long walks with Poochie. Sometimes just up the hill into our neighbourhood forest, to simply sit on the bench overlooking towns, valleys, vastness.
Did I ever mention how much I love autumn sunsets? They are particularly orange and red, for some reason it feels like nature just decides to go all yellow, orange, red, hues of pink and brown! Somewhere I read: “Heat of autumn is different from the heat of summer. One ripens apples, the other turns them to cider.”
True. Today I sat listening to Nudes by Claire Laffut. Couldn’t help but smile. Autumn has its way with new life that no one realises – for spring is seen as new beginnings, not ageing autumn that has lived this years experiences. Yet, as summer sun has faded away and autumn leaves are flying – I am sitting still and watching – eventually everything will transform into bare cold winter full of snow, and Christmas lights be glittering, twinkling and up, with a brand new year round the corner. Through it all remains constant, this – my musing heart.
