Forgetting: The Love Diary

One of the things that I remembered this morning is the option of “forgetting”. Many of my friends complain about how men just stop texting back from one day to another, or “forget to text back”.

You see, men are very good at chasing, in a heteronormative scene atleast, it has always been this way and shows no signs of stopping. Men do the chasing, rather than women (hopefully in modern day settings it will be the other way around, till then it is what it is!)

When a guy can’t stop texting back, it means he’s chasing you because he really “likes” you. On the flip side, when he stops texting you, or forgets to text you, or those texts get shorter (one word even) over time – it means he’s done with this particular chase, and clearly you aren’t a part of his priorities anymore. You are just another flower on the wall.

But that might not be the case with all. So my solution is this: give him space, be casual about it, if he phones great – shows he isn’t just disinterested but genuinely situational stress that caused “forgetfulness”, if not – get on with your life, do some soul searching – life isn’t over for you, just “another one bites the dust”. Cause remember, if he really loves you, he won’t simply forget about you, you will be there in this mind the first thing in the morning and the last thing at night.

Update: Next Day, when I reached work.

How can I remain angry when he apologises with the right kind of love-language catered to me?
